State v. M.L. (Felony Domestic Assault/Carlton 2023) DISMISSED
State v. C.R. (Second Degree Murder/Ramsey 2020) DEPARTURE
C.R. shot and killed an individual in front of numerous witnesses. Pete convinced the prosecutor that C.R.'s confession was illegally obtained. C.R. pled guilty to unintentional murder was sentenced to a downward departure, which resulted in a prison sentence more than a decade shorter.
State v. J.R (Aggravated Robbery/Ramsey County 2019) DISMISSED
After extensive investigation and negotiation with the state, the prosecutor agreed to DISMISS the charges against J.R.
State v. F.C (Aggravated First Degree Robbery/Dakota County 2022)
F.C was accused of stealing items while assaulting a person in their apartment. Extensive investigation revealed that the items actually belonged to F.C and his family. The prosecutor agreed to DISMISS the charge against F.C.
State v. Y.E. (Interference with a 911 call/Ramsey County 2021)
DISMISSED
State v. J.M. (Felony Domestic Assault/Ramsey County 2023)
Convinced the prosecutor that J.M. had not assaulted the complainant and had acted in self-defense. DISMISSED.
State v. A.Y. (Felony Domestic Assault by Strangulation/Ramsey 2021)
DISMISSED
State v. A.M. (Misdemeanor Domestic Assault/Ramsey 2023)
DISMISSED
State v. D.K (Possession of a firearm by an ineligible person/Hennepin 2020)
D.K. was charged after police found his DNA on a firearm in his proximity. The case proceeded to jury trial and Pete Dahlquist was able to convince the jury that the presence of DNA did not prove possession. NOT GUILTY.
State v. S.P. (Attempted First Degree Murder/Renville 2020)
The state was investigating S.P. as a suspect in a stabbing. S.P hired Pete who advised him how to proceed. S.P. was never charged. NO CHARGES FILED.
State v. W.C. (DWI/License Challenge Ramsey/2018)
W.C. was required to drive for his job. He was charged with refusal to submit after he could not complete the breath test. Convinced the prosecutor to reduce the criminal case to Careless driving, and the Judge to RESCIND the license revocation. NO DWI CONVICTION and NO LOSS OF LICENSE.
State v. A.A. (Domestic Assault/Ramsey 2018)
A.A. was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. He feared he would lose his job and was adamant he did not assault her. Pete and A.A. discussed the case with the prosecutor who ultimately DISMISSED.
State v. Y.R. (DANCO Violation/Sibley 2020)
DISMISSED.
